A resource for school, colleges and the community, this site will be added to in the coming weeks as we work with partners to make sure it contains useful and exciting material to help educate and inform about the engineering history of Plymouth and it’s key figures.

ENGAGING PLYMOUTH - COMMUNITY FILM

A film created from the footage taken from community workshops held for Engineering Plymouth was published today.
During the making of the film workshops were held across Plymouth with schools and community groups. The film will be used for community engagement and STEM educational activities.

PRINCE ROCK PRIMARY SCHOOL VISIT

Today ICE SW Director Miranda Housden and Katy Toms, Plymouth City Club Chair joined pupils at Prince Rock Primary School for Tomorrow's Engineers Week 2018. They ran a lighthouse workshops and talked about what it takes to be an engineer.
They also watched Engineering Plymouth and gasped with delight as the animations came to life!

Thanks to The Box, Plymouth for their web article about their role in Engineering Plymouth posted today.
The team at Wind & Foster worked closely with The Box throughout the filming process, with members of staff from their curatorial, business support and marketing teams providing a range of support. This included access to the collections and archives, digitisation and photography of content, as well as undertaking complex image and film licensing, script editing and advice.

The University are key partners in the making of Engineering Plymouth and the School of Engineering share many of the same education aims as our ICE 200 programme. Among the locations featured in the film are the University’s COAST Laboratory, Electron Microscopy Centre, Marine Station and Structural Integrity Laboratory.

ENGINEERING PLYMOUTH LAUNCHES

Engineering Plymouth launched today with screenings at Plymouth Arts Centre. Over 200 partners, participants and members of the local community attended.
Three private screenings (including panel discussions) were held from 5-8pm for those involved in the making of the film. And three further public screenings between 8-9pm, the same evening. Watch the film on YouTube here.

The invites to the launch screening of Engineering Plymouth have gone out. There are 6 screenings, including 3 for members of the public included in the schedule.
The film premieres on 5th November 2018 at Plymouth Arts Centre. There will be six screenings - three private showings from 5pm for partners, participants and ICE members. And a further three public screenings from 8pm for members of the public. No booking is required for the public screenings.
